But my doctor says I need B12 from chicken??

Meat eaters and vegans actually get B12 deficiency at the same rate.  Vitamin B12 is higher in a meat based diet, yet the body can’t assimilate it as readily because of the amount of acid made during digestion in a meat eaters gut can destroy much of the B12. Vegan diets in that sense can assimilate B12 easier, foods rich in B12 just have to be consumed.  If signs of deficiency are already showing, the best way to go, is to get some B12 shots or high dose supplements.
